What’s the difference between brief therapy and psychological coaching?
Brief therapy and psychological coaching may resemble one another in discussions about the matters of your mind. We approach coaching and therapy with some differences:
Brief therapy is aimed for individuals who have a specific mental struggle that has a mild or moderate negative impact on their every day life and who want to take steps towards resolving it. The amount of sessions vary between a single session to 20 sessions in total held once a week.
Psychological coaching is aimed for individuals who want to improve a mental skill in a particular area of life. Coaching involves added support with accountability and tracking of results. Sessions can be held weekly or biweekly for as long as the client considers appropriate.

Hi, I’m Samuel. I’m excited to join you on your mental journey!
I’m a certified solutions based psychological coach (Hedcoach®) and currently a brief therapist in training.
As your coach / therapist it’s important to me that you can experience being heard and understood. My job is to assist you in exploring your challenges by actively listening, asking questions and entertaining potential solutions to the issue at hand.

I also have a bachelor’s degree in industrial design and have worked as a designer, illustrator and in media production. I seek to utilize these skills to develop products and materials to help you on your mental journey.
I’m based in Helsinki, Finland, but I’d love to work with you regardless of where you are!
What to expect from a session?
In our first meeting we can explore what’s on your mind and you can assess if we are a good fit. It is important that both the client and therapist feel confident in their connection in order for the work to be effective.
First session can be considered an introduction, provided half price.
If we decide to move onward with more sessions, we will determine together how many sessions would be appropriate to work with your challenge.
At the moment we only do sessions remotely. You’ll be provided a link to a video call prior to a scheduled session where we can discuss matters that are relevant to your chosen topic. We aim for you to be heard and help find potential solutions to your challenges! Our conversations are confidential.
